Next Level Opportunities
We offer class progressions to keep our students challenged and to continue developing more advanced gymnastics skills. We have skill requirements on each event in order to move into our beginner 2 and intermediate classes. We plan to use these class progressions to build into our competitive program. However competition will not be required to move though these progressions.
Beginner II
These 55 minute long classes are designed to expand upon the fundamentals taught in beginner 1. Must complete our skills requirement in beginner 1 before moving to beginner 2. The curriculum focuses on skills such as vault fundamentals and flat back, pullovers without wall assistance, casts and back hip circles, various traveling skills on beam and intermediate weight transfer and round-offs. All gymnasts must have sufficient strength to support their own body weight while also controlling their body movements.
Intermediate
This class invites intermediate level students to meet twice a week for 55 minutes. It expands upon the foundations built in beginner 2 and includes greater strength and flexibility training. Focus continues on skill acquisition with an increased emphasis on form. Curriculum includes advanced flat backs on vault, cartwheels on beam and the introduction of the more advanced tumbling and circling bar skills.
